Jarrad Davies

Owner and Level 2 High Performance Surf Coach

Coaching Experience: Since 2007

Background: Jarrad competes in local, state and national surf competitions. He has won 3 x Australia SLS short Board Titles in 2009, 2011 & 2018; 2 x Australia SLS Long Board Titles in 2017 & 2018 and competed on World Qualifying Series (WQS).

His passion for the sport is evident in his quality delivery of his surfing programs and surf coaching.

Mike ‘Stomper’ McAuliffe

Level 2 High Performance Surf Coach

Coaching Experience: Since 2007

Background: Mike achieved remarkable contest results during the 1970s, 80s & 90s. He has won State Titles in the School Boys, Juniors, Open, Seniors, Masters and Senior Masters divisions.

In all Mike has collected eleven State Titles and won numerous Pro-Am, National & International surfing events. Since 2001 Surfing WA has awarded annual Mike McAuliffe Awards for exceptional surfing performance(s).

We aim to give back to our community whenever possible. We support charities close to our heart and our passion for surfing.

SURFAID

SurfAid is a non-profit humanitarian organisation whose aim is to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected to us through surfing.

The Disabled Surfers Association is a not-for-profit organization with the sole aim to give people with varying disabilities the opportunity to have a safe, happy & dignified surfing experience.

Just did a two day high performance camp. Improved my surfing no end, got some great advice on what to work on and how to improve further and to top it all off it was done whilst constantly having a laugh. I couldn’t recommend highly enough

Video Analysis

We use video analysis to show you your strengths and areas in need of improvement. You will be amazed at how the slightest tweak can make you look and feel like a whole new and improved surfer!

Strength & Mobility

It is important to get your body in to shape and to have the flexibility, endurance and strength needed to increase paddling fitness and up your wave count in the surf.

Demo Surfboards & Fins

We have a huge selection of surfboards and fins to choose from or try out if you are considering a new board. Finding the right equipment it critical to realising your full potential in the surf.

Skateboarding Sessions

No wave is ever the same and conditions are forever changing, so we use skateboarding to get the feel of how your body should be balanced and positioned to nail those turns you have always dreamed of!

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I bring my own surf equipment and wetsuit?

We highly recommend bringing your own surfboard and wetsuit. Although, if necessary we do have boards and wetsuits you can borrow and we also have demo boards and fins to try out if interested. Call us to chat if you have any concerns.

Where do we meet?

For camps and private coaching we generally meet outside the Margaret River Recreation Centre. We will inform customers if this location changes so please ensure you have correct contact details when booking so we can notify you of any changes if necessary.

What time do we start?

For camps and private coaching we start at 7am. Grom squad term training has it’s own calendar with daily start times. Click here for our yearly calendar.
